New review on TCR epitope annotations featues ImmuneWatch DETECT
Mapping T cell receptors to the epitopes they recognise remains a central challenge in computational immunology. A new review in Immunological Reviews, authored by a team at the University of Antwerp, walks through the methods built to address it, from bottom-up models that predict specificity for individual TCRs to top-down approaches that detect antigen-driven patterns across whole repertoires.
ImmuneWatch DETECT is discussed as one of the pan-specific frameworks able to annotate both well-characterised and novel epitopes at repertoire scale, including a recap of its earlier IMMREP23 benchmarking results and an application to multiple sclerosis repertoires, where it was used to link Epstein-Barr virus-specific T cells to a depletion of myelin-reactive T cells.
